Information on cabins available through a special drawing can be obtained after January 1st by writing to the Southeast Alaska Visitor Center, 50 Main Street, Ketchikan, AK 99901 or by calling (907) 228-6214 and TTY 228-6237.
Barnes Lake Cabin (T-01)
- Location: Northeast Prince of Wales Island, southeast of Stevenson Island.
- Access: Air: 70 miles from Ketchikan, 38 miles from Craig, minimum flight time charged = 2.8 hrs. from Ketchikan.
- Tide: Boat access at high slack tide, use caution.
- Unapproved Water Source: Creek.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear, migratory waterfowl.
- Fish: Coho salmon.
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong
- Topo Map: Petersbury A-3
Control Lake Cabin (T-02)
- Location: Central Prince of Wales Island; NW shore of Control Lake.
- Access: By car and small boat. A boat may be launched from the pull-out off of Highway 929, where there is a small dock. Boat with oars provided.
- Unapproved Water Source: Lake.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden, coho salmon.
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong

Honker Lake Cabin (T-04)
- Location: North-central Prince of Wales Island, eastern shore of Honker Lake, 250 ft. elev.
- Access: Air: 54 miles from Ketchikan, 27 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 2.7 hrs. Trail: Honker Divide Canoe Trail.
- Unapproved Water Source: Lake.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden and sockeye, pink and coho salmon.
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong

Karta Lake Cabin (T-05) (special drawing from May-September)
- Location: Central Prince of Wales Island between Salmon Lake and Karta Bay, 100 ft. elev.
- Access: Air: 34 miles from Ketchikan, 22 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 1.6 hrs. from Ketchikan. Trail: 1.5 miles from Karta Bay.
- Unapproved Water Source: Lake.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, steelhead, Dolly Varden and sockeye, pink and chum salmon. Indeed one of the most productive systems on Prince of Wales Island.
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong

Karta River Cabin (T-06) (special drawing from May-September)
- Location: Mouth of Karta River, central Prince of Wales Island between Salmon Lake and Karta Bay, 100 ft. elev.
- Access: Air: 34 miles from Ketchikan, 22 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 1.6 hrs. from Ketchikan. Trail: 1.5 miles from Karta Bay. 5 mile trail system from saltwater to Salmon Lake Cabin.
- Tide: Any
- Unapproved Water Source: Stream.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, steelhead, Dolly Varden and sockeye, coho, pink and chum salmon.
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong
- Topo Map: Craig C-2
McGilvery Creek Cabin (T-07)
- Location: West Salmon Lake at mouth of McGilvery Creek, central Prince of Wales Island.
- Access: Air: 12 miles from Ketchikan, 20 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 1.7 hrs. from Ketchikan. may have to walk 100 to 200 ft. in water from plane. Bring hip boots.
- Unapproved Water Source: Creek.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, steelhead, Dolly Varden and pink, coho, chum and sockeye salmon.
- Seasonal Use: May through October.
- Topo Map: Craig C-3
Red Bay Lake Cabin (T-08)
- Location: North Prince of Wales Island south of Red Bay, 50 ft. elev.
- Access: Air: 84 miles from Ketchikan, 55 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 4 hrs. from Ketchikan. Trail: Not well-maintained from lake, take boat to cabin. There are two boats - one at the north end of athe lake and one at the cabin.
- Unapproved Water Source: Lake.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, steelhead, Dolly Varden and sockeye, coho, pink and chum salmon. Indeed one of the most productive systems on Prince of Wales Island.
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong

Salmon Bay Lake Cabin (T-09)
- Location: North Prince of Wales Island southwest of Salmon Bay, 50 ft. elev.
- Access: Air: 84 miles from Ketchikan, 55 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 3.7 hrs.
- Unapproved Water Source: Lake.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, steelhead, Dolly Varden and coho, sockeye, pink and chum salmon. Indeed one of the most productive systems on Prince of Wales Island.
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong

Salmon Lake Cabin (T-10) (special drawing from May-September)
- Location: North shore of Salmon Lake, central Prince of Wales Island, 118 ft. elev.
- Access: Air: 36 miles from Ketchikan, 20 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 1.6 hrs. from Ketchikan.
- Unapproved Water Source: Stream and lake.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden and sockeye, coho, pink and chum salmon.
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong
- Topo Map: Craig C-3
Sarkar Lake Cabin (T-11)
- Location: Northwest Prince of Wales Island, notheast shore of Sarkar Lake, 25 ft. elev.
- Access: Air: 76 miles from Ketchikan, 34 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 3.3 hrs. from Ketchikan. Road and Boat: A boat may be dropped into the lake from Forest Development Road #20. Boat provided, no oars. User must bring outboard engine and marine chart. There are many protruding rocks in the lake.
- Unapproved Water Source: Stream.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden and coho, sockeye, pink and chum salmon. Indeed one of the most productive systems on Prince of Wales Island.
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong

Shipley Bay Cabin (T-12)
- Location: Northwest Prince of Wales Island, off of Sumner Strait. Extremely scenic site.
- Access: Air: 85 miles from Ketchikan, 46 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 3.7 hrs. from Ketchikan. Boat: From Shipley Bay. Trail: A 3/4 mile trail leads to Shipley Lake where a skiff is provided.
- Tide: Any.
- Unapproved Water Source: Stream.
- Wildlife: Sitka black-tailed deer, geese and ducks at south shore of Shipley Bay.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden and steelhead in Shipley Lake and Creek. Four species of salmon are also supported in the streams: coho, sockeye, pink and chum
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong
- Topo Map: Petersburg A-5
Staney Creek Cabin (T-13)
- Location: West Prince of Wales Island, at mouth of Stanley Creek in Tuxekan Passage.
- Access: Air: 68 miles from Ketchikan, 24 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 2.9 hrs. from Ketchikan. Boat: Cabin may be approached at high tide. Road and Trail: A short trail leads from Forest Development Road #2059-300 to cabin.
- Tide: High.
- Unapproved Water Source: Staney Creek.
- Wildlife: Goose and duck, Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear, wolves occasionally.
- Fish: Saltwater and streams. Cutthroat, steelhead and rainbow trout, and coho, sockeye, pink and chum salmon.
- Seasonal Use: April through December.
- Topo Map: Craig D-4
Sweetwater Lake Cabin (T-14)
- Location: Northeast Prince of Wales Island, 25 ft. elev.
- Access: Air: 63 miles from Ketchikan, 34 miles from Craig. Minimum flight time charged = 2.7 hrs. from Ketchikan. Road and Boat: Road #30 on the way to Coffman Cove. Park at the "Sweetwater Lake" sign. Skiff is located on the lake close to the pulloff to easily access the cabin. Another boat is located at the cabin for the use of the permittee.
- Unapproved Water Source: Lake.
- Wildlife: Migratory waterfowl, Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear.
- Fish: Cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden and coho salmon.
- Seasonal Use: Yearlong
